Pre-ForestSAT2026 Meet Up & Do Science

ForestSAT 2026, is taking place from May 4–8 in Gainesville, Florida, USA (with some online attendance options)! More info here: https://carlos-alberto-silva.github.io/silvalab/ForestSAT2026/

We are inviting you to join us for a live, online “meet up and do science” sessions focused on forests, in advance of ForestSAT 2026.

The sessions will be led by Peder Nelson, Senior Instructor of Geography and Geospatial Sciences at Oregon State University and OregonView State Coordinator.

No prior experience is needed. Join for as long as you’d like and contribute to real science alongside others.

What to expect:

  • A brief introduction to participatory remote sensing and land cover
  • A guided, hands-on activity contributing to real research
  • Insight into how community observations improve forest monitoring
  • A preview of ForestSAT 2026 and Peder’s presentation
